Hot Wheel Roller Derby VS. Paris Rollergirls: Match Report
Hot Wheel entertained Paris Rollergirls in a thrilling encounter that Hot Wheel eventually came out victorious. Both sides felt as though they had done enough to win the game but Hot Wheel ran out winners 205-193.
Hot Wheel took an early lead in the contest with Ruthless
Philly taking advantage of Paris having three players, including their jammer,
in the sin bin by scoring over 30 points for the Leeds based side. Despite
struggling to score points when Paris had a full compliment of players, Hot
Wheel took advantage when Paris once again had players in the bin with Malice in
Wonderwheels capitalising on Paris' poor discipline. Hot Wheel found themselves
with a comfortable lead at the break 114-67 up. In the second period Paris came out fighting with Kozmic Bruise leading the charge. The Hot Wheel blockers couldn’t cope with the small jammer who ran rings round her opposition on numerous occasions. She was very unlucky to find herself on the losing side as she was the stand out player on both sides with her ability to get the crowd off their feet in excitement.
Hot Wheel in comparison found points hard to come by unless Ruthless Philly was on the track. She contributed to over two thirds of her sides points and really carried the team.
The away side did take the lead, 182-183, with just four minutes to go in the bout and it looked like there was only going to be one winner, but once again Paris gave away needless penalties gifting Hot Wheel the chance to take advantage. This was duly delivered by Ruthless Philly who clocked up 23 points to kill off any hopes of Paris completing a great comeback. |
